From Silence to Song

Mike Moss returns with a bold new sound, and a story to tell.

It's fair to say it's been a while since I've been active in the music scene, but I'm excited to announce that I'm back now with a new EP, and a story to tell.

In 2019, I was preparing for a new live show to promote my recently released EP 'Start with Love, and Forgive the Rest.' Everything was going great until the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and I had to take a break from music to look after my two young children.

But that wasn't the only setback I faced. In February 2022, I contracted COVID-19 and lost my singing voice completely. It was devastating, to say the least. I couldn't imagine a life without music, or my voice, but there I was - unable to sing a single note.

I tried everything I could to get my voice back, changing my diet, visiting specialist consultants and undergoing countless tests. It was a long road, but after 12 months of hard work, my voice is finally starting to come back to me. And in the meantime, I've managed to write some new songs for an upcoming EP!

Working alongside my close friend and guitar player, Ben Hall, and inspired by artists like John Mayer, The War on Drugs, U2, and the beautiful Soweto Gospel Choir, the new EP is a bold new direction for my music. It's certainly been a wild and scary ride, but I'm excited to share my story and my new music with you all, once again.

To explain my absence from the music scene, I've created a short video that's both upbeat and amusing. Sure, it's not every day that you lose your singing voice, but I wanted to take a more lighthearted approach to it all.

Watch the video below and join me on this journey from silence to song. It's been a wild ride, but I'm ready to take on the music scene once again, with a newfound appreciation for life, and a bold new direction for my music.

The new EP is set for release in 2024...more news coming shortly!

It feels great to be back. Thanks for sticking around and for all your continued support.
